HELP / BROWSER EDITION
AURA in practice.
Get started
- Choose Import audio, then use a track row or the player Play button. No music starts automatically during import.
- Search the library, favorite tracks, create a playlist, then add tracks with their Add to playlist selector.
- Open Queue to move or remove items. Library/playlist playback replaces the queue with that visible selection.
- Choose a track and import .lrc or .txt under Lyrics. Select a timed line to seek. Export preferences before clearing browser data.
What works here
- User-selected local audio, real HTML audio playback, play/pause/seek/skip, volume and speed.
- Editable queue, shuffle and repeat off/all/one.
- Local library search, favorites, named playlists, ordered playlist playback and playlist deletion.
- Local TXT/LRC import with repeated timestamps, fractional seconds, offsets, translations and active line highlighting.
- Violet/pink/mint accent selection and metadata/preferences JSON export.
Storage & privacy
Only versioned metadata, favorite IDs, playlist IDs, lyrics and accent are stored in localStorage. Audio stays in File/object URLs in the tab. Exports contain metadata/lyrics, not audio. Preference export is not a restoration/import interface.
Limits to know
- Audio files are session-only. Reimport the same name/size/modification-time files after reload to reconnect saved playlists and lyrics.
- Displayed titles come from filenames. Embedded album art, ID3 editing, library folder scanning and online lyrics are not implemented.
- MP3/WAV/OGG/Opus/FLAC/M4A container signatures are checked; actual codec support varies by browser.
- Android Auto, Media3 services, widgets, guaranteed background playback, native downloads and FFmpeg conversions are unavailable.
- Maximum 200 tracks / 500 MiB per session, 50 MiB per file, 50 playlists, 256 KiB per lyrics file and 2 MiB saved lyrics. No YouTube download workflow.
- The original source and release downloads are private and require authorized GitHub access.
